When we signed on in June of 2006, we had no idea that a driver like DAN WHELDON would embrace our presence as he did, giving freely of his time to always stop and talk to us whenever we wanted a quick sound byte from him. Only wanting a few seconds each time, Dan would always give us so much more as he did with just about everybody he spoke to regardless if you were a media person or a fan desiring an autograph or photo.
When we combed our archives, we were amazed to find out just how much audio we had captured with Dan and we are still finding files that were not labeled for easy reference. As we continue to add more content, we invite listeners to check out these snippets into Dan’s life, both on and off track. All of the content was gathered exclusively by our crew as any “media pool” content is not included here. If you really want to find out what Dan was all about, listen to our live interviews from the various years he competed in the RoboPong 200 as it was an opportunity to truly tell “his story”…
We are proud to have known DAN WHELDON and are blessed that he was always so gracious to us. Like his millions of fans, friends and family members, we will miss him dearly but celebrate the man he was to all: “Driver, Father, Friend….Role Model”
